About Us
What is RentZoro and how does it work?
RentZoro is a screening platform that helps property owners confirm details like income, assets, credit score and ID's without relying on tenant provided documentation. RentZoro focuses on reducing fraud for both sides of the renting process.
As a Property Owner
As a property owner you can send out tenant screening applications and receive their RentZoro reports. Viewable here. This information is gathered through many data sources and does not rely on tenant provided details.
As a Tenant
As a tenant you will be sent a screening application that will ask for your consent to finish. Things like your transactions, your credit report and your identifications used for the application do not get shared with the property owner. Additionally, each property owner will not be able to view your report until they have verified themselves with their own government identification. This way, you can always be rest assured that the property owner is real and exists.
How do I know my RentZoro reports are accurate?
RentZoro reports do not rely on tenant provided details, therefore our reports are completely based on data derived from our key partners which include TransUnion, Veriff, and Canadian banks. These reports help property owners make better data-driven decisions
In what countries can I use RentZoro?
RentZoro is currently only available in Canada and in English.
How does RentZoro make money?
RentZoro is backed by people who are invested in preventing fraud in Canada. For that reason, RentZoro does not make any money from its tenant screening services and plans to keep it this way. We hope that with this housing becomes more attainable for everyone.
Data Usage
Do you sell or share my data?
RentZoro is completely committed to keeping your data secured. We DO NOT sell or share any of your information to third parties for any purpose.
Can property owners see my bank details?
No. We do not allow property owner to see or access your banking data. See a sample report of what gets shown to a property owner once you've completed your application here.
How does RentZoro keep my data secure?
To keep your account safe, we'll automatically log you out after you've been inactive for a period of time. Additionally, we are equipped with military grade encryptions to ensure your data is always secure.
Tenants
Will checking my credit score lower my credit?
No. Using RentZoro does not lower your credit score. When RentZoro gets your credit score, we request the information on your behalf. This is known as a soft inquiry. Soft inquiries do not impact your score because you are using it as personal reference and not to apply for a new line of credit.
Can I use this application for other properties?
Yes, we consider data with RentZoro to be valid and re-usable for 90 days.
Can I control what data is saved?
Yes, you can adjust what gets saved and re-used from your document tab on your tenant dashboard.

How does RentZoro protect against renter fraud?
RentZoro verifies a potential tenants Income, Assets, Credit Report and ID's to protect property owners from renter fraud. The report is compiled through multiple data point and has no reliance on tenant provided documents and self-declared details. This will help property owners make better data-driven decisions.
Why do I need to validate my id if I am not applying?
This is for tenants' piece of mind to ensure that the property owners they are dealing with is real.
Why is Identity, Credit Report, and Income mandatory for applications?
These details are important for our report to be as accurate as possible. RentZoro also allows property owners to request specific documents and even customize their request before sending an application.
